How long a power station runs a fridge

Start with your fridge's own EnergyGuide label: yearly kWh ÷ 365 = kWh per day. Compare that with the station's watt-hours, then check the station's surge rating covers the compressor starting.

Step 1: daily energy from the label
The FTC describes the EnergyGuide label as the yellow tag attached to most home appliances, including refrigerators and freezers, and says it tells you how much energy the appliance uses. If you don't see one, the FTC suggests looking inside the appliance or checking the seller's or manufacturer's website. Use your model's figure; a generic "typical fridge" number can be far off. If the label gives yearly kWh, divide by 365 for a daily figure. ENERGY STAR says certified refrigerators are about 9 percent more energy efficient than the federal minimum, and that an old refrigerator uses about 20% more energy than an ENERGY STAR model.
Example only: a label reading 400 kWh/year works out to 400 ÷ 365 ≈ 1.1 kWh (about 1,096 Wh) per day.
Step 2: compare with station capacity
Using the example's 1,096 Wh per day (listed capacity, before conversion losses):
| Station | Listed capacity | Days at the example load |
|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 1024 Wh | just under 1 |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 | 1070 Wh | about 1 |
| Anker SOLIX C1000 | 1056 Wh | about 1 |
| EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 | 4096 Wh | about 3.7 |
| Anker SOLIX F3800 Plus | 3,840 Wh | about 3.5 |
Real runtime is lower than these figures because of inverter losses; our sizing guide shows how to add a margin.
Step 3: starting surge
A compressor draws more for a moment when it starts. Check the station's surge rating: DELTA 3 Plus 3600 W, Explorer 1000 v2 3000 W, SOLIX C1000 2400 W (SurgePad limit), DELTA Pro 3 8000 W. Anker does not publish a single surge figure for the F3800 Plus. See the 1 kWh comparison and DELTA Pro 3 vs F3800 Plus.
Keep the door shut
Ready.gov says a refrigerator will keep food cold for about four hours and a full freezer will hold its temperature for about 48 hours, and advises keeping freezers and refrigerators closed. That window lets you run the fridge in blocks rather than non-stop. For hard-wired circuits, see transfer switch basics; for a full outage checklist, see the outage safety plan.
